Anti-Wrinkle Injections
How Injections Work
A wrinkle relaxer made of Botulintoxin is injected into specific areas of the face. These injections are often called “Botox”. Botox is a brand of botulintoxin but is often used as an all-inclusive term for a wrinkle relaxer. The Injectory® is proud to carry 3 types, Xeomin, Dysport and Botox. We will select the brand that we recommend based on your age, facial skin needs, goals and our experience; unless you have a preference, which we will consider with you.
Why
The Benefits of Anti-Wrinkle Injections
When we use muscles in our face, these muscles move our skin, which over time cause folds or creases in the skin, or as we know them to be called – fine lines and wrinkles. Even a reduction in movement, can reduce the wrinkles that can be created. An injection of a wrinkle relaxer can minimize or stop the contraction of the muscles that are causing the wrinkles that you are noticing on your skin. Less movement, less wrinkles! When on a treatment schedule, even lines that were there permanently can become less. If you don’t crease the skin, you don’t damage the collagen as easily, and the crease can repair itself.
As we age, we are more prone to wrinkles in the skin even when the muscles aren’t actively being used, due to a few factors. One is cellular changes that occur over time, which includes a reduction in the collagen we produce. Another is damage from the environment that breaks down elastin fibers, such as smoking, exposure to the sun’s UV light and free radicals. Check out our ZO® skin health link for skincare products, especially SPF to protect your skin, and schedule a consultation. We offer a variety of services that can help your collagen production. Your anti-wrinkle injections are most effective when combined with quality medical grade skincare, SPF protection and improvements in overall skin texture and tightening.
